Lantai T. Pinkie ( Istana Budaya )-
Bahasa Melayu 29/4/2006
My boyfriend decided to treat me and my parent to watch a play. At first, we chose The Suzana @ 60 because this theatre was a musical of 60’s era and my parent love music so much. Unfortunately, my grandfather fell sick, so my parent had to balik kampung .
Several weeks later, we booked the Lantai T. Pinkie. The tickets was quite expensive to me but we have to since the view for the cheaper seat will make all of us ‘sakit tengkuk’ after the play end. It was on 29th of April, and it was also a hectic and tiring day because my parent help me to move to my new rented home.
Later in the evening we have had to get ready for the show. My parent, especially my mom was so delighted as this is her first time to go to theatre, and to make it more special, it was a treat by her menantu-to-be (son-in-law).
The Lantai T. Pinkie was based on karya of Datuk A.Samad Said starring by Nasha Aziz (T.Pinkie), Azizah Mahzan (Nyai Sunarti), Jalaludin Hassan (Wak Merdeka), Vanida Imran (Siti Udaya), Abby Abadi (Musalmah Jiing), Safura Yaakob(club singer) and Soong Ai Ling (Puteh Su Abdullah).
The plot of this play is about T.Pinkie who was the most beautiful, a sexpot and most popular dancer at Bunga Joget Moden Club, Singapore in 1952 . She also dated Muhairi who was an accordion player also at the club.
Her real name is Tengku Siindahkuno binti Tengku Afraruddin. Whilst the “T” in T. Pinkie is actually referred to “Tonggek” and the”Pinkie” referred to her favourite to wear pink kebaya.
One day she was kidnapped and raped by a gangster named Si Gonjuloh. No one in the club know where she had been including Muhairi. Si Gonjuloh forced T.Pinkie to marry her and they had daughter Anirah. T. Pinkie had been living in misery.
Until one day, Si Gonjuloh said the talaq and T.Pinkie escaped to Muhairi. Si Gonjuloh and his gangs search for her with intention to kill her. While T.Pinkie was so afraid and asked Muhairi to take her far away from Singapore. They ran to Telok Melano Sarawak. But later T. Pinkie died because of the Confrontation War.
I think in this play, Vanida is sexier than Nasha in term of wearing kebaya. While Nasha is sweet enough to be Pinkie and she sang well too. The play was for a charity brought by Persatuan Penulis Wanita Malaysia (PPWM) as a tribute to our late Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood wife of our Prime Minister. Since the producing budget is limited so the song was only a miming and there is no orchestra. Oh, how I wish to see they sing with orchestra. Well, to put it in a nutshell, all of us really enjoy the play.
Quotes: “Nyanyian begitu bukan kerana mabuk arak. Mereka mabuk lain. Aku tak bohong, Pinkie. Mereka terpesona kerana punggungmu. Punggung..punggung tonggekmu itu masa depanmu, Pinkie”- Muhairi Tirus
